our client, a young and growing boutique wine producer with one of the best-known female winemakers in the country, is looking to appoint a finance administrator who will take control of all financial, accounting and administrative duties.

the business started four years ago and the team is small – at the moment. our client is looking to recruit someone who will share her passion for success and is comfortable working within a culture that is customer-focused, fast-moving, vibrant and fun. the right person will go the extra mile to do the job with commitment and professionalism - a self-starter who can work collaboratively but who is also flexible enough to work on their own. wine industry experience would be a plus, but not essential. you will contribute to the decision-making within the business. you will also enjoy ongoing training and development support to help further your career and build your skills.

the location is the stellenbosch area and the successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and, ideally, their own transport.

apart from the added value pertaining to the above you will be required to perform the duties as set out below:

bookkeeping
• posting monthly activity to sage/pastel
• reconciliation of control accounts • detailed ledger maintenance up to trial balance
• asset register

bank, petty cash and loan accounts
• capture receipts and payments • reconcile accounts

customers
• invoicing export and local customers
• reconciliation of accounts • customers statements and follow-up
• currency revaluation
• control incoming funds

suppliers
• capture invoices • reconciliation of accounts
• prepare payment lists and arrange payments

reports
• monthly reports • cash flow, budget and forecasts – (strong mentorship will be provided)

general admin
• assist with general administrative value added services

you will :
• have a tertiary qualification/5 years appropriate experience
• excellent communication skills – the ability to explain structures and financial jargon in an “easy to understand” way to the rest of the team. fluency in 2 sa languages, one of which is english
• be adept at appropriate computer software & technical skills – sage/pastel, excel required
• have stellar organization & teamwork skills – ability to create synergy
• have serious attention to detail & organizational skills. excellent communication skills in english
• accuracy, integrity & commitment. strong self-leadership and emotional intelligence
