our client, a prestigious hospitality & agricultural business, based in stellenbosch, seeks a proactive and experienced facilities manager to oversee the comprehensive management of its facilities and properties.

the ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all physical assets, managing property leases and contracts, overseeing security and hospitality maintenance teams, coordinating new projects, and maintaining the it network infrastructure and related services. the farm consists of a hotel, spa, wine cellar, nursery, food garden, waste plant, aerobic wastewater treatment plant, and freshwater supply plant.

responsibilities include:
• maintenance - plan, direct & oversee the maintenance team activities across all facilities.
• projects - lead and manage new infrastructure projects from inception to completion, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of contractors and stakeholders.
• sla - coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers pertaining to all facets relating to maintenance, security & it.
• property - manage property leases, contracts, and tenant relationships for all company-owned or leased properties.
• safety & security - plan, direct and oversee the security structure, relevant teams & ensure security measures for all facilities, including surveillance systems, access control, and emergency response protocols are in place and performing at all times. review, adapt and implement security policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of employees and assets.
• health & safety - implement and oversee health and safety management protocols specific to a hospitality property, ensuring compliance with regulations and promoting a safe environment for guests and staff. manage a hospitality maintenance team responsible for maintaining the upkeep of guest-facing areas and amenities.
• it network infrastructure - oversee & manage, ensuring the smooth operation of all technology systems.
• budget - responsible for the development and oversight of the property budget and for providing reports on facility management, water, waste, renewable energy, and electricity consumption objectives.


this position requires a proven track record within the space of facilities and property management systems and practices. you will have a mastered the ability to plan & execute through others. your management skills will include respect for the individuals that make up your team, a natural aptitude to communicate clearly and the ability to engage within an extended stakeholder group.
experience within the hospitality environment will be advantageous. proficiency in using microsoft 365 and teams, facilities management software, security systems, project management tools, and it infrastructure management tools are required.

due to the nature of the hospitality business, this position is required to work over weekends
and public holidays as rostered. and it goes without saying that no day will be the same.
salary is dependent on experience and will include a family home on the farm.
