we are looking for a strategic and results-driven marketing manager: tourism to lead how stellenbosch is positioned, experienced, and discovered — both locally and globally.
reporting directly to the ceo, this is a high-impact leadership role where strategy meets execution, and creativity is powered by data. you will act as a custodian of the stellenbosch brand, driving a fully integrated, insight-led marketing approach that delivers measurable growth in visitor numbers, brand visibility & stakeholder value. you will lead through digital, campaigns, pr, trade, partnerships, and events — ensuring every touchpoint tells a compelling, consistent story.
what you’ll lead
strategic leadership & brand stewardship
• shape and evolve the stellenbosch brand across all channels
• translating destination strategy into impactful marketing direction
• ensure a unified, compelling narrative across stakeholders
integrated campaign leadership
• deliver multi-channel campaigns across local and international markets
• align digital, pr, content, trade, and events for maximum impact
• manage and inspire agency partners to deliver best-in-class work
digital & content excellence
• oversee owned platforms including website and content ecosystems
• drive powerful storytelling that reflects the diversity of stellenbosch
• optimize the visitor journey from inspiration to conversion
data-driven performance
• lead with insights, analytics, and market intelligence
• track and optimize performance across engagement, reach, and roi
• continuously refine strategy based on real results
global market growth
• support and execute international market strategies
• build relationships with trade, media, and global partners
• identify opportunities to grow market share in key regions
stakeholder collaboration
• partner with wineries, restaurants, accommodation providers, and event organizers
• drive collaborative campaigns that elevate the full destination offering
• deliver measurable value across the ecosystem

• keep stellenbosch at the forefront of global tourism marketing
the ideal candidate
• a degree in marketing, tourism, communications, or related field
• 7+ years’ experience in tourism, destination marketing, or similar
• proven success in delivering impactful, measurable campaigns
• strong strategic thinking with hands-on execution ability
• deep expertise in digital marketing, content, seo, and analytics
• experience of managing agencies and complex stakeholder environments
• exceptional communication and influencing skills
• adaptability, drive, and a passion for storytelling and tourism
on offer
