visit stellenbosch is seeking a passionate, people-driven tourism consultant & brand ambassador to join our team.
this is more than a standard visitor services role; it is an opportunity to bring the stellenbosch story to life through every interaction. as a key frontline representative, you will play a vital role in shaping first impressions and curating memorable experiences.
in this role, you are not just assisting visitors.
you will act as
• a storyteller of stellenbosch.
• a connector of people to place.
• a curator of authentic experiences.
• a trusted voice of the destination.
key responsibilities
• welcome and engage visitors at the visitor information centre with warmth and professionalism.
• provide accurate, inspiring, and up-to-date recommendations on accommodation, wine estates, restaurants, and experiences.
• assist with itinerary planning and bookings, tailoring experiences to visitor needs.
• manage enquiries across in-person, email, and telephonic channels efficiently.
candidate profile
• a qualification in tourism, hospitality, or a related field will be advantageous; however, we strongly encourage passionate candidates with relevant experience and a genuine love for tourism who may not have had formal tertiary education to apply.
• a natural host with a passion for people and service excellence.
• a self-starter who takes initiative and ownership.
• strong knowledge of stellenbosch and surrounding areas.
• demonstrates computer literacy and administrative capability.
working hours are roster-based, consisting of 8 hours per day, excluding the lunch break. weekend and public holiday work is required, and time off in lieu applies.
this position will provide major opportunity for growth. you will have exposure to a wide network of local tourism partners and experience, hands-on experience in destination marketing and visitor engagement & a significant platform to grow within a dynamic and purpose-driven environment.
